a world of manipulation where empty words and lifeless eyes

old souls are dancing 'till the morning sun They opened their circles,
invited are the chosen ones.
Set yourself free, open your heart release the burden that tore you apart Break the chains of your misery
in perpetuaty.
The signs of shadows in the fames tell of yet unknown tales Sparks in the dark reveal their paintings in the sky
I feel the presence of a force that dwells in hearts and minds
My time has come to leave this world behind
With blood on our hands
and poisoned thoughts
we were taught to never look back
So hear my regrets and take my remorse Come see me fghting my faws!
I can feel myself transcending In trance-like silence my soul fies I see my energies ascending
Towards the endless open skies

Until I felt that I wasn't alone! I feel alive
I called darkness my home Shadows my friends
Fear was my closest companion
I saw the white in the eyes of demons Within the deepest tracts of my soul! Disconnected from the roots of the universe Deaf to the pulse of the earth
Hope was a dream for the living
And death a dream of my own!
Now I see the light
Down by the riverside
It feels familiar, yet unknown to the eye It speaks to me, wordless yet so clear It speaks through me
And saves me from my fear! I am alive!

Lead me out of darkness Release me from this madness I confess my weakness
To redesign my consciousness
I'll turn my decline into forces of unbound creation my will - my power - my strength
fuels my desire to become
the one I was meant to be the one I was afraid to be! I'll pay for my faults pay the price for bygone addictions my failures, my doubts and my faws
The search for forgiveness consumed my mind,
a poisonous path that I leave behind!

You cursed silence, so come and hear my scream! You feared the unknown, the one you could become! You cursed the night, so let me be your sun!
True light shines deep within.
We are its source and enemy alike.
A blaze in the eye speaks beyond language, a gleaming hope for the ones led astray!
I once feared darkness but you shared your fame, without a word I found liberty
I once cursed silence but you made me tame
all doubts and voices in my head, the content of my elegies!

While the pulse of the earth drowns in the poisonous noise of manmade heritage, we are still slaves of those who built such destructive reality on our shoulders, yet with our silent support. A reality uprooted, isolated and disconnected from our
surrounds.
But arrogance, greed and the shameless ability to build empires on corpse-strewn ash does not exclude us from the laws and forces of nature. Mother nature doesn't forget. Mother nature doesn't forgive. In harmony we will harvest our seeds. In harmony we must return what was never ours. We are merely guests at this magical place; and that which was there long before us will also witness our
departure.

Aquilus took a decade off and came back like he never left! Bellum I is yet another piece of beautiful melodic black metal mixed with classical and folk that makes you wanna dance naked in a forest somewhere. The natural sounding production increases the atmosphere heavily. Griseus is a monumental black metal album for me but Bellum I isn't far behind. Can't wait for II!
